Fun, art, design, holy shit

Surely you didn’t think we were done with business cards after the Kluge. The Mama’s boys hooked me up with bookbinder extrodinaire Monica Holtsclaw of Boombox Bindery to do some gilding for us. How off the sicktor chain is this? Pretty off the sicktor chain. It blows my mind that someone is doing this type of thing in my town. Thanks Monica!
Fun
Dear friend Thomas up and started himself a bike shop down in Miami called Keirin. To celebrate the achievment DVS decided to design him some special kicks. And in the bottomless generosity of his heart he saw fit to send me a pair. I rode to work in them today and they are very comfortable and made me go very fast. Faster than most cars. Though that’s not partcularly uncommon in Winter Park where motorists are more concerned with window dressings of local shops than of maintaining the legal speed limit. Nevertheless, good kicks.
Check out all the cool fun shit Thomas is up to on the Keirin Cycles blog. Thanks dude!

Got this email from Bryan “Bear” Soderlind this morning:
So I just wanted to inform you guys about the amazing new camera that will be available to rent to only my closest of friends. It’s called the BLUE cam and it is packed with lots of high tech features starting but not ending with the fact it shoots on Hi8 tapes. I’ve rented it a few times to action sports cinematographer Jeff Raley and he has gotten some great results. Let me know as you get projects and need to put the BLUE on reserve. Thanks and great shooting.

Check out the stunning resolution here as Bear’s video interview with Josh Letchworth goes horribly awry.

Mexico City recording artist Natalia Lafourcade just release her latest album entitled Hu Hu Hu. Dear friend Cara made the masks and the dress Lafourcade wears on the cover. Cara worked really hard on these and I’m very proud of her!
The masks are also featured in the video Azul (dudes won’t let me embed). The video is kinda whack (why are these twentysomethings acting like seven-year-olds?), but I think the masks are cool, they show up at the end. Congrats Cara!

Sometimes you’re jsut sitting at your desk thinking, “WTF am I gonna blog about today? What’s interesting about reading a bunch of submissions? Aquiring content for the new website launch?” And then this little gem just falls right into your lap.
The triumphant return of DJ Dream Titty is happening tomorrow night at the Cornell Museum of Art as part of their current weekly series Warhol Wednesdays. Come out and look at some Warhol photos, bring some cash for the bar and get lost in the mammary jams the DJ will be spinning.

Sheba came down to FL for her summer vacation. She’s posting all the ups and downs, twists and turns, highs and lows on her blog. Check out part 1, wherein I conquer nature, and part 2, wherein the beans get spilled concerning a crush I have on a local barista and I almost get murdered by a snake.
